“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom” -Aristotle
“Whether I am working with children, parents, couples, or individuals, I believe that increasing our awareness plays an important role in healing, meeting our own needs, and creating meaningful relationships. Awareness is the difference between subconsciously reacting to a situation by repeating the same undesired behaviors and consciously responding to that situation with purpose and intent. Increased awareness can help us understand the roots of our beliefs, emotions and behaviors, and empower us to shape our future by harnessing the power of choice moment to moment.
I am compassionate, easy-going, and I seek to find the humor in complex situations. I use these traits in conjunction with my training to ensure that clients gain the insight and understanding they are looking for as they navigate the healing process. I strive to build a safe and supportive environment through empathy so clients feel empowered to examine the deeper thoughts and feelings driving their reactions. I then help the client identify their desired response and together we discuss skills to practice outside of the therapy session which will help cultivate positive changes.”
