Medication Management

Professional prescribing to treat your mental health symptoms

Medication can play an important role in supporting balanced brain chemistry and overall functioning. A psychiatric provider can help you explore whether medication is a good fit by clearly explaining the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives, so you can make an informed decision about your care.

ADHD Evaluation & Medication Management

Our psychiatric providers offer support for ADHD evaluation and medication management, with a thoughtful and individualized approach to care. Some of our providers require a prior diagnosis or formal psychological evaluation before prescribing medication for ADHD. Others are able to assess for ADHD and provide medication management as part of ongoing care.

At this time, ADHD services are typically offered within the context of ongoing care or through referral from an established therapist who can provide additional clinical context and support. We may not always be able to accommodate self-referrals seeking ADHD evaluation or medication alone.

If you are currently working with a therapist at COR and ADHD is a concern, your therapist can help determine whether a referral to one of our prescribers may be appropriate. If you have a prior diagnosis and are interested in starting or transferring care, please complete our contact form to request services.

Chemical Dependency

If you are actively drinking or using illicit drugs, you may not be a good fit for psychotropic meds with this office until you are in recovery and address your substance use. Due to safety concerns and scope of practice, a Cor-affiliated provider cannot provide care for those who require special services from a chemical dependency provider/prescriber (e.g., Buprenorphine, Methadone, alcohol detox) or need the variety of services provided by an established outpatient chemical dependency treatment program.

Safety

Your safety is a priority. Patients in treatment with a Cor-affiliated provider are stable enough to receive care in an office setting. If your condition is unstable, medically complex, or could benefit from a specialist setting, you will receive recommendations for a more suitable treatment setting.
