About Jennifer
Every child wants to do well. When children struggle with anxiety, emotional outbursts, behavior challenges, trauma, ADHD, or life transitions, it is often their nervous system—not their character—that needs support.
I am a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist® specializing in helping children build emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and healthy relationships. Using Synergetic Play Therapy®, an evidence-informed approach grounded in neuroscience, attachment, and the healing power of play, I help children understand and regulate the emotions that drive their behavior so that lasting change can occur. When appropriate, I also integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help children process traumatic experiences, reduce anxiety, and heal from distressing memories in a developmentally appropriate way.
I work with children experiencing:
Anxiety and excessive worry
Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
ADHD and executive functioning challenges
Emotional dysregulation and frequent meltdowns
Perfectionism and school stress
Separation anxiety
Grief and loss
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (hair pulling and skin picking)
Low self-esteem
Difficulty expressing emotions
Play is a child's natural language. Through carefully attuned play experiences, children learn that big feelings are manageable, their bodies are safe, and they are capable of handling life's challenges. As children strengthen their ability to regulate emotions, families often notice improvements in anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, relationships, sleep, and school functioning.
My approach is collaborative, and I believe parents are an essential part of the therapeutic process. I provide ongoing coaching to help caregivers better understand their child's nervous system, respond with confidence, and create stronger connections at home. When parents understand what their child's behavior is communicating, they can respond with greater confidence and connection, helping their child develop the skills to manage emotions and build lasting resilience far beyond the therapy room.
